With a background as a General Contractor, I launched Skybound Brushworks to honor my past while building toward my future. In 2022, my wife and I made a bold decision: we dissolved our construction company and invested our savings into my flight training, as I’ve always had a yearning passion for wanting to fly. At the time, we specialized in large-scale remodels and had just completed a custom build and a total restoration of a 1915 Craftsman home. Through that work, I discovered a lasting passion for the trades — especially painting.
Flight school isn’t cheap. After completing training and achieving my ratings, I began working as a Flight Instructor. The aviation industry is notoriously difficult for new commercial pilots, as many employers won’t (or legally can’t) hire low-hour aviators. Because of this, instructors often earn far less than expected, working long hours just to build time. Every month is a financial challenge — but the mission keeps us going.
That’s where Skybound Brushworks comes in. Born from two passions, aviation and craftsmanship, this business reflects who I am — a Pilot and a Painter. My goal is to deliver exceptional work with integrity, while offering you a highly skilled tradesman to elevate your home or space. In return, your business directly supports my family and helps keep dreams in flight.
At Skybound Brushworks, we hope to give back by hiring other flight instructors. Many of these professionals are underpaid, overqualified and unsure how they’ll make ends meet. By offering them meaningful, flexible work in the trades, we aim to provide some financial relief and honor their journey — while ensuring top-tier service for our customers.
Pilots are excellent multi-taskers with a commitment to precision, safety, timeliness and professionalism. As flight instructors, they’ve already proven their ability to adapt, problem-solve, and lead. Each candidate is physically fit, background-checked, and drug-free — offering a refreshing standard in a field where reliability is often hard to find.
By hiring pilots and empowering skilled tradesmen, we’re building something bigger than just a painting company. We’re elevating homes — and launching futures.
